The area around Tintagel in north Cornwall is one of my favourite places in the south-west. Rugged coastal views but less busy than further west along the coast.

This detached barn conversion would be my ideal bolt-hole in the area. A small but perfectly formed cosy nook in which to read my book by night and walked the rugged headlands by day.

This is slightly quirky in that it is an upside-down house with a living room on the top floor to take advantage of the views - it has a four-aspect view. Don't want to be upstairs then you can be downstairs in the sunroom instead which apparently is blessed with an 'impressive' log-burning stove.

You can even have guests stay in the small chalet in the garden or it could be the playroom or home office.

The view alone for this house is worth the asking price of £235k . The house is a bit of blank canvas needing a complete refurbishment but could become a dream house with some serious work.
